Working for Amplify Education – Job Description

Teachers work remotely for Amplify Education’s small group tutoring intervention programs, monitoring progress and delivering online sessions to small classes of students several times a week throughout the year.

There are Amplify Education programs in Math, Science and English Language Arts, that are designed to help teachers understand their students’ needs and respond in ways that inspire children to think creatively, deeply and independently about their studies. Amongst this, tutors are expected to be able to develop learning skills through game-like activities.

  • Monitor the progress of students’ reading ability virtually to determine if tutoring instruction is working or needs adjustments.
  • Track student attendance for tutoring groups daily.
  • Implement feedback from the program manager and professional development coach.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with teachers and parents on student goals and achievements.
  • Regularly read and review email and communication from the tutor leadership team to keep informed on program changes and updates.
  • Attend synchronous or asynchronous bi-weekly tutor meetings with the project manager.

Conclusion – Is Amplify Education Worth Considering?

Amplify Education offers competitive pay, with paid training and prep time that are not commonly found elsewhere in online teaching. This, combined with accessible requirements and mostly-positive employee reviews, makes them worth considering by many US-based tutors. However, you may have to keep checking for the right vacancy, whilst hours do not seem to be guaranteed despite having to commit to a consistent schedule.
